Eco Fabric

Bamboo Fabric

An ancient fiber that is now used to create some of the most wonderful eco-friendly fabric on the market. The texture is similar to linen, the feel is soft to the touch, and the drape is similar to rayon. Whether you're making baby diapers (lots less bulky), oxford shirts, or traveling pants, bamboo might be your best choice. Bamboo wicks moisture away, leaving your whole family dry and comfortable.

Organic Fabric

Organic fabric!! Hurrah! The fabric industry is (finally!) breaking ground with new earth-friendly materials! These organic cotton and organic cotton blend fabrics are a wonderful first step toward fabric manufacturing processes that are chemical free and safe. Certified 100% organic cotton was grown without the use of pesticides or chemicals. It is produced in a facility that is certified for purity, so you can be assured that you are getting the best for you and for the environment. For more about Organic Cotton, see our Fabric 101 section.

Hemp Fabric

Acording to the Free Dictionary, "Industrial hemp has thousands of uses, from paper to textiles to biodegradable plastics to health food to fuel. It also runs parallel with the "Green Future" objectives that are becoming increasingly popular. Hemp requires little to no pesticides, replenishes soil with nutrients and nitrogen, and converts CO2 to Oxygen very well, considering how fast it grows."

"The fiber is one of the most valuable parts of the hemp plant. It is commonly called "bast", meaning it grows as a stalk from the ground. Hemp fibers can be 3 to 15 feet long, running the length of the plant. Depending on the processing used to remove the fiber from the stem, the hemp naturally may be creamy white, brown, gray, black or green."

Eco Felt Fabric

Our felt is Ecospun, meaning it is made from recycled post-consumer plastic bottles. Another score for the planet! Soft, versatile Felt!!! You all remember felt. Instead of just frowning when you see all those plastic bottles, be sure to recycle, and start using Eco Felt. Make your own puppet show, glue up a costume, cover a game table, or create an educational tool.

Seacell Fabric

Ancient Chinese medicine meets 21st Century eco-friendly technology! Seacell fabric uses a natural substance from the sea to develop a fiber. When combined with other fibers, that seaweed substance adds superior breathability and softness.

By using a seaweed-derived fiber, a "living" element is added to the blending of wearable fabric. Seaweed nutrients, such as calcium, magnesium, amino acids, and vitamins are released by natural body moisture when the fibers are worn.

Ramie Fabric

Ramie is a flax-like fiber that comes from the stem of an Asian herb with broad leaves and dense branches.

Natural Dye Fabric

Traditional dying processes can add unwanted chemicals. Our Natural Dye Fabrics are processed using eco friendly dying techniques.
